ComingOutBot
ComingOutBot is the crawler of the Coming Out? App. It visits public event listings to build an agenda of LGBTQ+ events and always sends people back to the original page to get tickets or more information.
How to recognise it
It identifies itself in every request with this User-Agent:
ComingOutBot/1.0 (+https://comingout.app/bot)What it collects
- Title, dates, venue, price and link of public LGBTQ+ events.
- A short excerpt of the event description.
- Images only as links: we never copy them to our servers.
What it never does
- It never logs in or goes past paywalls or forms.
- It never collects personal data.
- It never re-hosts your content: each event links back to your page.
How often it visits
- Once a day at most.
- At most one request per second per site.
- It respects robots.txt, including Crawl-delay.
- If your site blocks it, it stops visiting.
How to block it
Add these lines to your site’s robots.txt and ComingOutBot will stop visiting it:
