A sunset stretch in front of Hotel Kumala Pantai that used to be a beloved hangout for gay sunbathers — especially after dark. The dedicated “gay beach” corner and rainbow flag have faded, and the crowd now skews mostly straight, but the spot still serves up that laid-back Bali beach energy: rentable chairs and umbrellas, cold drinks, and a mellow shorefront scene. Great for relaxed beach days, sunset people-watching, and meeting fellow travelers. Remember it’s a public beach so vibes shift with the crowd; everyone is welcomed and celebrated here — lesbians, gay men, trans, non-binary and queer folks included. Bring a sarong, a sense of mischief, and sunscreen — you can still carve out your own glittery corner under the palms.
